| Scirus | Named for an historical Greek seer, this search engine was developed by Elsevier--one of the world's largest scientific publishers--as a search engine for scientific information. Scirus does find more information that is scientific in nature than the average search engine, however users should be aware that this source does not evaluate Web sites. Pseudoscientific and spoof sites are among the results that can be retrieved. In summary: a useful search engine whose "hits" must still be evaluated with care. |
