The Center for Dewey Studies  
Council for Research in Values and Philosophy The Council works with university and science academy faculties in 60 countries to apply scholarly research to important human issues. Its goal is to "promote cooperative philosophical research that (1) draws on worldwide cultural resources and (2) applies these resources for human progress." All links were active and opened quickly. A thorough and easy to use instrument that will provide professionals and students interested in the study of values with exposure to expertly developed ideas that they might otherwise miss.

Foucault Resources: Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy Clare O'Farrell (Queensland U. of Technology) has compiled one of the best available Internet sites on French historian and philosopher Michel Foucault. Beginning students and professionals alike will find helpful tools on this well-designed and easily navigable site.

PhilPapers: Online Research in Philosophy CHOICE Highly Recommended  Web site a premier resource for Anglophone online professional philosophy research; created and assiduously maintained by David Chalmers and David Bourget of the Australian National University; its central feature is a rapidly expanding database of more than 200,000 items.
Philosophy Talk Two philosophers have created an open forum to discuss philosophical topics on a one-hour talk show. While mostly broadcast in California and Oregon, the programs from 2004-2008 are available to download as podcasts. The program tackles the whole spectrum of philosphy; a blog is available; one reviewer states it is entertainment for all thinkers.

Center on Religion and Democracy  a nonpartisan research center at the University of Virginia, committed to addressing the question of whether American democracy can be "properly woven with the threads of new cultures, languages, backgrounds, interests and ideas." Full-text materials are accessible in a variety of formats.
Interdisciplinary Encyclopedia of Religion and Science  an encyclopedia of Catholic theology and science, with scientific entries usually reflecting a distinctively Catholic theological perspective
International Religious Freedom Report  U.S. Dept of State
Internet Sacred Text Archive  A nonprofit archive of electronic texts devoted to religion, mythology, folklore, the occult, and esoteric texts
Ontario Consultants on Religious Toleration  the site offers more than 2,600 essays about world religion; science and religion; religious hatred; and hot topics such as abortion, same sex marriage, assisted suicide, and the death penalty. The site is the work of one author, Bruce A. Robinson, a scientist and engineer. He focuses on non-mainline denominations and Eastern religions; the content on the site is primarily opinion; keeping these reservations in mind, users will find this an interesting site to explore.

Religion Explorer a powerful crawler-based search engine that searches only religious sites; its goal "to provide the freshest indices with the most powerful search features which will allow anyone to find any information about religion faster than any other search engine"; ads appear in the search results; no information on how often the site is updated
Religion in Latin America Edward Cleary (Latin American Studies Director, Providence College) designed this site, which is mostly of bibliographies classified under "History/Politics", "Protestant-Afro-Indigenous" and "Theology". Nearly 300 of its more than 500 items were published during the 1990s. this site does not function as an encyclopedia, but is a rich source of information rooted in Cleary's 40 years of scholarship in Latin American Studies.

Jewish Encyclopedia.com Jewish Encyclopedia (12 volumes, 1901-1906) was edited by Moravian-born author and editor Isidore Singer (1859-1939), whose goal was to create the first "encyclopedia of the history and mental evolution of the Jewish race". The Web version is a full, unedited reproduction of the original, down to the illustrations and photo captions. Hyperlinks within the transcribed entries take visitors to related topics elsewhere in the encyclopedia. An available Google search links browsers to Internet sources on the selected topic. An excellent 21st-century approach to a timeless resource.
